Ultimately though I learned that the mouse position determines the max range of the blink and the beginning of the spear-shape-stun, which made things easier, but STILL the shape of the spear-stun is difficult to get precise when the mouse pointer needs to be closer to his body it is more accurate at max range, but then you can't take advantage of smaller blinks forward than are necessary, and sometimes max blinks can get him into trouble. On top of which, the tip of the blade is very narrow and demands great precision. On release feels slower than click mode, but QC makes it hard to gauge range of the blink component, which is separate from the shape of the blade that stuns. Imperius Q is one ability that I had trouble with figuring out what mode is best. You want the skillshot to go out exactly when the other player gets into a specific position, and the shot goes to exactly where your mouse pointer is. Precision is actually better if you know what you are doing. Skillshots are harder to land, reduced precision This also ensures Calamity combos can be precise without on-release muking things up. But Li-Ming Q is still good to have on QC because you simply press Q and the shots just go where your mouse is, and you should know the range already. IMO these are much better for QC On Release. More important to land with precision, AND there is more time to do so. QC On Release can sometimes mess with precision if you need to combo abilities quickly, as lifting a finger up is not as precise as pressing it down, but QC is still faster than press+click. Same for Joh's Q: even though it has a funny shape it more important to land it ASAP when needed. Is straight and all you need to memorize is the distance, which is easy to do. You don't get to see skill ranges, easier to fuck up
